I'm joining a little late in the discussion, but I'd agree the mix is rather dry. My solution was to melt half of the chocolate and use it for binding, chopping up the rest to go into the mix. But the cocoa-chocolate mix is soooo nice! Thanks for saving me in my search for a chocolate biscuit recipe with no egg in the house.

Daisy - don't worry about it! I never would've attempted them if the recipe wasn't on here. They were really easy to do and delicious. It was probably an error on my part, but as usual, golden syrup saved the day! ;-)

Hi Holly

Glad you managed to salvage the whole crumbly situation, I'm sorry the mixture wasn't right, not sure what happened there. My professional cool and perfectionism appear to have taken a knock, normal service will resume shortly once I've given myself a good talking to.

I just made these bad boys (I mean, literally, the second batch are still in the over). The mixture was far too powdery to hold together as it was, so I whacked a few tablespoons of golden syrup in there and it worked a dream. Mmmmmmmmm..

No egg needed for this recipe, they're simple biscuits. If egg were added they'd be more cakey.
